Different But The Same

Ok so some more Astro Boy/Tetsuwan Atom fanart because I love that little robot more than myself xD
So this started life as a sketch of the lil robot Astro and the human boy he was before and was based on, Tobio Tenma. Kind of used one of Astro's 1980s series outfits for both of 'em, changing the colour of Tobio's cos it would have had too much red (and he wears a somewhat similar green one in the 2003 series anyway).
The idea of this is that although Tobio and Astro /are/ different they are essentially the same as Astro was created to be Tobio (and depending on what series he even has Tobio's memories in him so he's practically Tobio in a robot body to some extent).
Though they're built differently and made of different things, they are still very much part of one another~
The design in the background was just meant to show Astro's electronic system next to Tobio's human one~ Though it probably makes enough sense without explanation ^_^'
I am incredibly proud of how this turned out. Mostly because as per usual I was guessing the entire time while I was using GIMP. The fact that something half-decent can worm its way out of my efforts on GIMP is a miracle and always comes as a pleasant surprise. Can't say the same for those ones that don't turn out so well o.e... If I actually knew what I was doing myt stuff would probably look a whole lot different most of the time but on this occasion I'm proud of what the end result was~<3

I went back to colouring the sketch on MS Paint to begin with and drew the jagged background shapes too. GIMP came in when I was adding the colours and effects and stuff but honestly I was working blind and when it got to this stage I didn't really know how I did it *facepalms*
